Product Review: CoverGirl Eye Enhancers

Reviewer: Cinnamon Kitten

Brand: CoverGirl
Name: Eye Enhancers Eye Shadow
Size: 2.5 g (0.09 oz)
Price: Approx. $4 CAD

Shade Tried: Purple Pop

I have been really into eyeshadows lately and have added a whole bunch to my makeup stash lately. I also love the colour purple when it comes to eye colours. Shades of purple and lilac always look great with brown eyes, and Asians are no exception.

I've tried a lot of drugstore eyeshadow brands where the colour looks great in the package, but are way too light or washed out when you actually apply it (one drawback of drugstore cosmetic shopping is often the lack of testers).

To Purr About:
- the purple shade looks great in the package and looks just as good once applied
- colour is really strong and vibrant, even with only one sweep of the applicator
- applicator has two different ends - a rounded one and a pointy one, perfect for different application amounts
- really reasonable price
- CoverGirl Eye Enhancers come in a really large amount of options, and include 1, 3 and 4-shade kits

Claws Out:
- none really

Final Comments:
I'm really surprised at the intense wash of colour that these Eye Enhancers provide, even with only one swipe of the applicator. The huge range of colours available means that everyone should be able to find something that they like. Although many of the colours are too bright (think neon green!) for me, I do appreciate how many options there are. The price is really reasonable as well, so you can definitely buy a few to experiment with.

How well does it blend?

They blend pretty well, actually, which was surprising (although I don't use CoverGirl eyeshadows regularly). I just thought the colours would be too bright and intense to mix well, but they weren't bad. Of course, some colours blended horribly with others, but that's more of a colour issue.

My only thing is that you can't use the enclosed applicator to blend these, it just looks really messy - I found using a professionaly eyeshadow brush worked much better.
