Product Review: The Body Deli Light Facial Emulsion

It’s winter time again and that means it’s time for me to battle my dry skin. In an attempt to fight it off before it even starts I’m making sure to keep my skin super moisturized this year.

From the website: "Flood your skin with weightless moisture. This revolutionary facial emulsion uses chiral technology to greatly increase cellular absorption and reduce irritation. This light facial moisturizer is designed to hydrate the skin and treat acne prone skin conditions. Salicylic acid and our proprietary blend of Silica, Sulphur, Maganezium and Copper act as a benzol peroxide alternative to help heal and clear up blemishes without drying out the skin. Use this moisturizer daily to condition the skin and enjoy the fresh, clean feeling of this very special facial emulsion."

To Purr About:
- super light and not greasy
- does not irritate or dry out my super sensitive skin
- a little goes a long way

Claws Out:
- the scent is a little too sweet for my liking.

Final Comments:
The moment I squirted some of this moisturizer on to my hand I could feel the difference – it was super light and I wouldn’t have even been able to tell it was on my hand if I couldn’t see it. It’s so super light on my skin I almost immediately forget I even have moisturizer on, except that my skin isn’t dry.

I was pretty impressed that it didn’t irritate the stubborn dry areas on my face that are easily irritated by other moisturizers. It really was weightless moisture! My skin was moisturized, but I could barely feel the product on me. This product would be perfect in summer when you don’t want that gross oily feeling on your skin. Unfortunately it doesn’t have SPF, but obviously you can’t have everything. I don’t think a moisturizer with SPF could ever be so light and non-invasive.

Product Review: Eyeslices

My eyes are often tired from stress, work, long days and wearing contacts. So I often turn to my cooling eye mask for comfort. My eye mask (with 2 eye holes in it) I stick in my fridge and wear for about 5-10 minutes. I’ve often wondered if my eye mask would do more good if it didn’t have the eye holes in it.

When I saw this product I was pretty excited to give it a try.

Eye slices claim to relieve: dark circles, fine lines, irritation, puffiness and redness with just 5 minutes with their eye-treatment pads that work like their hi-tech cucmber slices that are re-usable up to 10 times.

To Purr About:
- convenient storage case that you can buy refills for
- re-usable up to 10 times
- does not require a fridge, but is recommended for best results
- very nice cooling sensation

Claws Out:
- smell was not very pleasant
- was a bit awkward to put on/apply

Final Comments:
I would definitely advise to open both packages first, have them readily available, lie down, and then apply the eyeslices 1 eye at a time. Then, sit back and relax for 5 minutes (or more).

One great them about the eyeslices was that it forced me to relax for at least 5 minutes each day. And even without putting them in the fridge beforehand they were still cooling.

Unfortunately I didn’t see much of a reduction in the dark circles around my eyes or the redness of my eyes and I didn’t much enjoy the smell of them. I think for now I’ll stick with my old-fashioned eye masks that are re-usable many, many, many times that I have to stick in the fridge.

Made from natural ingredients, including carrots and other orange fruits and vegetables, these lip butters also include Jojoba, Vitamin E and Shea Butter.

To Purr About:
- mint flavour is very light and not overpowering (or tingly like many other "mint" flavoured balms tend to be)
- affordable price for an organic lip balm
- natural ingredients aren't harsh on my lips, which have been very dry lately
- moisturizing, but not greasy

Claws Out:
- none really

Final Comments:
This was a great lip balm and I love that it comes in a tube format, rather than the popular "pots". Very handy to toss in a purse or bag. I tend to avoid mint-flavoured lip balms because I find most of them are too strong and result in a tingling sensation which I don't like, but this lip butter is very light and doesn't bother me at all. Overall, a great lip butter that's not greasy and keeps my lips feeling great.

Product Review: M.A.C. Nail Lacquer

I recently mentioned that I was aching to find a great black nail polish. My current polish was running out and was a special edition L’Oreal nail polish. So you can imagine how happy I was when Cinnamon Kitten surprised me with this M.A.C. nail lacquer.

This nail polish is described as "Revolutionary new high gloss formula. Visibly different. Provides no-streak/no-chip finish. Contains conditioners and UV protection."

To Purr About:
- comes in 19 great shades
- has multiple metal beads inside to keep nail polish thin and runny
- easy to grip, non-slip handle/cap
- only requires 2 coats to give that deep black colour
- contains UV protection

Claws Out:
- none really

Final Comments:
I love black nail polish. Unfortunately as I stated before it isn’t as easy to find as it was when I was back in high-school. Thankfully M.A.C. still has a large selection of every colour under the sun. I haven’t bought M.A.C. nail polish in ages because it’s pricier than other brands that I find in the drug store, but after trying this nail lacquer I would definitely say it’s worth the extra money.
