NEW Product Line: NARS Fall 2009 Collection

I'm not sure I'm that happy about writing about a FALL collection already (I'm one of those people that fights for every last inch of summer...), but autumn does usually mean some gorgeous, rich colours, and NARS doesn't disappoint.

"For this collection, I wanted to create something fragile and strong, and seductive but not aggressive," said François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS.

The combination of strength and refinement has become a hallmark of NARS, and is particularly fitting this season as the brand celebrates its 15th anniversary.

Lipstick, $24, USD
Captivating shades designed to provide the look and style the color dictates. Exceedingly longwearing, nourishing and non-drying, with Vitamin E.
- Fast Ride: this seemingly dark purple may intimidate, but swipe it across the lips and its true shade is revealed: a sheer mulberry. A color that falls somewhere between an intense plum wine stain, and a moody, deep violet.

Nail Polish, $16 USD
An exclusive formula with technology designed to improve flexibility, durability, wear and gloss properties. This longwearing formula provides a tough, durable chip-resistant finish and also has added UV protection to prevent polish discoloration. Toluene, Formaldehyde and DBP free.
- Tokaido Express: named after Japan’s most heavily frequented high-speed rail route, this lacquer is an opulent blackened amethyst doused with ultra-fine gold dust particles.

Duo Eyeshadow, $32 USD
The same longwearing crease resistant formula as NARS single Eyeshadow, in a series of uniquely paired color combinations. Worn together or alone, all duo eyeshadows can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic effect. All powder eyeshadows can be used wet or dry. Richly pigmented powders, effortless blending; coordinated in fashionable pairs. Use as eyeshadow, eyeliner or on eyebrows.
- Silk Road: mirrors the hues from traditional damask fabrics. Classic meets edgy in this new duo — an icy pink is paired with a warm rose gold with golden flecks.
- Brumes: perfectly capture the moody shades of a cool twilight sky. A velvety matte charcoal with a sparkling, blue state for a smoky eye that is both confident and serene.
- Indian Summer: a typical Indian summer comes as a surprise, balmy sunshine meets brisk fall. Swipe the summery, frosted champagne shimmer up to the brow, and line the upper lid with the autumnal deep, matte mustard for a striking look, appropriate for every season.

Single Eyeshadow, $22 USD
Longwearing, crease resistant color in sheer wearable formulas. Can be applied sheer or layered for a more dramatic effect. These richly pigmented powders blend effortlessly and can also be used wet for precisely lining the eyes. Richly pigmented powders, effortless blending. Use as eyeshadow, eyeliner and on eyebrows.
- Mekong: intense, blackened espresso hue scattered with rose gold is a study in contrasts. Applied liberally across the lid it exudes a sexy attitude, or applied lightly, a simple, fashion-forward sophistication.

As fun as it is to see all the new trends for fall, I have to agree that I'm not ready for fall to come yet, especially since summer came so late here in Calgary.
