Hi Cinnamon Kitten,

I just wanted to comment on your purchas of Biore Nose Strips. I've read/heard that they're not the greatest product to use because they basically just tear your skin away & leave your pores exposed. However, I myself have major pore issues on my nose, so these strips have made it in to my normal regime. I find following up with a wash, toner, and moisturizer eases my mind that dirt can get in to my open pores.

All in all I enjoy this product. Although they don't work 100% because it always seems to bubble up where i need it the most, I enjoy that you can actually see the results (being the nasty stuff it can clear my pores of).

Does the St. Ives Swiss Formula Collagen Elastin Advanced Body Moisturizer really work? What's up with this collagen stuff i keep hearing about?

ori514 - I've read the same thing about the Biore strips and I can see why they're bad for you - it's like putting plaster on your face and ripping it off, but I'm with you, sometimes I just need to use one to really feel like I'm cleaning out those pores! I do keep usage to a minimum though, to prevent irritation and usually use it right before I go to bed so I'm not putting any product on it until the next morning.

Kelli - I'm no scientist, so this is all just very basic research on my part, but collagen has great tensile strength, and is the main component of fascia, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bone and teeth. Along with soft keratin, it is responsible for skin strength and elasticity, and its degradation leads to wrinkles that accompany aging. It strengthens blood vessels and plays a role in tissue development. It is present in the cornea and lens of the eye in crystalline form. It is also used in cosmetic surgery and burns surgery.

Most synthetic collagen is made from animal-derived.

Personally I really like the St. Ives cream because it's easily absorbed, light and makes a huge difference in my skin, especially in the winter.
